Introduction
The Ardonagh Group, a major player in the global insurance and risk management sector, sought to modernise their risk compliance process. As part of this effort, the business aimed to move away from World Check One and instead integrate LexisNexis into its contract management workflow. Dolphin IT Solutions delivered a .NET solution for SharePoint Server that automated risk checks upon creation of new contracts.
Challenges
Ardonagh's existing compliance workflow relied on World Check One, which they aimed to phase out in favour of LexisNexis due to its enhanced capabilities; this shift required integrating LexisNexis with Ardonagh's legacy SharePoint 2013 environment used to manage their contracts.
Core requirements included:
- Replace World Check One with LexisNexis for risk checks, without disrupting existing business workflows.
- Automated =screening triggered when new contracts were added to a SharePoint list.
- API based integration using SharePoint-compatible .NET components.
- Visibility into the results within SharePoint.
Our Solution
Dolphin IT Solutions developed a .NET solution for SharePoint 2013 to enable automated use of the LexisNexis risk intelligence.
Key components of this project included:
- Triggers: Run the risk screening automatically when a new entry was added to a SharePoint list.
- API Integration: Query LexisNexis using key details of companies & individuals listed on the contract to assess risk, returning a detailed profile of the associated entity.
- Easy Access to Results: Results of the risk checks were saved into fields on the contract, allowing users to view the risk indicators without leaving SharePoint.
Our solution provided a seamless transition away from World Check One, embedding LexisNexis' risk intelligence directly into the contract lifecycle. This empowered The Ardonagh Group to maintain compliance whilst aligning their technology with longer term solutions, even in a legacy environment.
